Developing a Modern Coal Chemical Industry

China's energy situation is often characterized as being short on petroleum and gas, and rich in coal. As a result the country’s energy production and consumption is extremely reliant on coal and will be for years to come. There is, however, no denying that low carbon clean fuel chemical products can partially substitute petrochemical and natural gas products. Moreover, carbon clean fuel is strategically important to China’s national energy security. At Datang Power we draw on our rich lignite resources and abundant water resources in eastern Inner Mongolia and are developing a modern coal chemical industry. We are pleased to announce that in 2013 our coal chemical projects achieved breakthroughs in technology and products.
